Crazy-Good Cheesy Sausage Muffins

Savory sausage and cheddar muffins are perfect for breakfast or brunch.

- 1 pound breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sugar
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- Extra cheese for topping optional
Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a muffin tin.
Cook the sausage until browned and drain.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in sausage and cheese.
In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and butter. Combine with dry ingredients.
Fill muffin cups and bake 16–18 minutes until golden.
