Crazy-Good Cheesy Sausage Muffins

Savory sausage and cheddar muffins are perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sugar
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • Extra cheese for topping optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a muffin tin.
  • Cook the sausage until browned and drain.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in sausage and cheese.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and butter. Combine with dry ingredients.
  • Fill muffin cups and bake 16–18 minutes until golden.
