Slow Cooker Beef Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Equipment

  • 1.5 –2 kg 3–4 lb beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Rub
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • BBQ Sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Combine the rub ingredients and coat the brisket well. Let rest if time allows.
  • Mix BBQ sauce ingredients in the slow cooker and place the brisket inside.
  • Cook on low for 8–10 hours until tender. Slice and serve with sauce.
